Can you guarantee you will talk to everyone you need to at an exhibition?

Exhibitions are increasingly important for generating new business, networking and grow existing relationships with customers and prospects

An excellent idea is to make appointments in advance with people you want to meet.  An e mail or call to arrange a meeting during an exhibition can be very effective

This is where you can refresh existing relationships and form new ones.  Effective time management is crucial in gaining your maximum return on investment.

Do your customers know that you will be at the Expo?

83% of the most successful companies at exhibitions mailed their clients and prospects before the show (source CEIR)

If you don’t tell anyone you are exhibiting, who will?  Invite customers, prospects and anyone else who is interested in your business.  Inviting existing customers is essential to a successful exhibition.

This is where you can strengthen relationship with customers and chat with them face to face rather than through e mails or telephone calls.

Don’t forget creating a hype around your stand can attract new customers.  By having a lot of attention around your stand it shows how friendly your business is and attracts new prospects

Are you maximising all types of correspondence?

Why not add the South East Construction Expo and your stand number to the e mail signature of all your staff, invite them to your stand and a complimentary drink.  Inform as many people as you can of your presence at the exhibition

Does everyone on your stand look approachable and friendly?

Visitors DO judge a book by its cover. If a visitor walks past your stand and everyone is on the phone, eating lunch or looking at a laptop then they won’t come to your stand.  Everyone should be smiling and ready to talk at any time.  Make a visit to your stand memorable – your success is down to the people manning your stand have regular breaks and walk around and talk to other exhibitors.

 

Are you exhibiting to generate more sales leads?

The answer is usually yes.  But many businesses fail to follow up sales leads.  Don’t make the mistake of forgetting about the show once it is over.  Contact businesses you have met as soon as possible.

Following up shortly after the Expo will ensure that the relationship formed is kept fresh.  It is also easier to talk to the prospect if they remember you are and your conversation.
